New hardware

Thu Aug 27, 2009, 12:55 AM
So, the day finally came.

Today I received my brand new Sigma 17-70mm. With it came one little cute pol-filter. Sweet!

Finally I can put my kit-lens to rest. Let's see what this will bring. :)

Lovecraft...

"There are not many persons who know what wonders are opened to them in the stories and visions of their youth; for when as children we listen and dream, we think but half-formed thoughts, and when as men we try to remember, we are dulled and prosaic with the poison of life. But some of us awake in the night with strange phantasms of enchanted hills and gardens, of fountains that sing in the sun, of golden cliffs overhanging murmuring seas, of plains that stretch down to sleeping cities of bronze and stone, and of shadowy companies of heroes that ride caparisoned white horses along the edges of thick forests; and then we know that we have looked back through the ivory gates into that world of wonder which was ours before we were wise and unhappy."

But at least I got my music.

Bought a piano

Sat Feb 7, 2009, 7:38 AM
A few days ago, I bought myself a digital piano. A Yamaha NP-30 to be more specific.

It's been a dream of mine to learn to play the piano for several years now, and now I've leapt into it. I have some experience with playing music, since I've played classical guitar for 11-12 years. So I'm not all that new in the world of notes etc. :)

The dream is to learn some Yann Tiersen on the piano, which I've already started a little on. But I must first learn to master different techniques and all that. Get my fingers into it. It's really fun!

So yea, I'm mostly practising on Bach's Menuet in G. :P

I can't wait to get better. I play every day since I have the piano right next to my computer.

Wee!

This is what's up...

So, lately I've been really busy with real life stuff.

I moved into a new apartment. It's really great. Bought a lot of furniture and a big 32" TV. :) Have to get myself some stuff to fill those boring evenings when there's nothing much to do.

I also had exams, which have exhausted me quite a bit, and before it's all over, I'm already starting on my next term at my university. Phew!

I haven't had energy, creativity and thought to make some new pictures. I hope that things will come together now that I have my new place. I just need to find myself among all that moving-mess. The new place might offer a new aspect to my gallery. I'm living in the big city now, so to speak, and I think that will offer me some new stuff in terms of subjects. I'd like to think so.

Of course, I've been listening to a lot of music, and as always it helps me move along.
There's really nothing new there... I listen mostly to Yann Tiersen. I just saw that I have more than 5.000 plays of his songs. That's quite amazing. I never get tired of listening to him. I guess it's because his music for me is as much a feeling and a mood, as it is mere music. And you don't get tired of feeling good... :)

Elliott Smith is also on the player all the time. Crossed 7.000 plays... damn!

Not that I enjoy breaking it down to numbers, but it's just funny to see sometimes. :)
